Our techniques: FRESCO PAINT - MURAL - ENCAUSTIC – CANVAS
|
The fresco paint technique, differing from other techniques, is proven to be the most durable and resistant through the passing of the time of all the applied pictorial technique. The execution of the fresco paint is more complex than any other technique; this is the reason why sometimes is preferred the mural technique, giving up the extraordinary brightness and durability of the fresco paint technique, so appreciated for its qualities in the past as nowadays.

No other painting that is not a Fresco paint can conserves within time the color pure and unaltered, just as the artist applies it in the moment of its execution. Brightness, strength and freshness are the excellence of this technique that makes it one of the favorites to be applied in public buildings, but mostly in the churches, as is evident in the art history.

Why sometimes is preferred the mural technique?
The reason of the choice is in the fact that, the atmospheric effect of this technique is opposite to the more rigid execution of the fresco paint. On the contrary, in the mural or “al secco” paint, even if the surface is prepared according the required rules of the technique, the durability in time is limited, also depending of the conservation level or the artwork.
This two techniques can also be alternated with a third one, that guarantees durability within the time and more softness in the execution. Even if complex in its technical application, this is the encaustic technique, seldom used for the difficulties that many artists can find in its execution, since it is necessary an extraordinary artistic ability as well as to have the confidence with the many elements required for its application.

Is more often used the application of large painted canvases that are glued to the walls or other kind of support. From one point of view it resolves many of the execution problems, being easier for the artist as for the client, but sometimes for many reasons it can be detached from the support, or suffer the dampness of the walls, being possible to present fungus or other problems inherent to the genre. All these techniques are valid, their success depends on the consciousness with which the artist does the work, that is, if the problems that may arise over time are correctly prevented, the results will satisfy the spirit of the artist and especially gives to the client an excellent work of art. |
